Ian Goodman | RMT
Ian Goodman, (he/him)
I’m passionate about working with people experiencing pain - whether it's new, recurring or chronic.
I offer direct billing for folks with ICBC claims.
I like to plan treatments collaboratively, by getting to know each person’s preferences, goals, and lifestyle before selecting an approach and providing guidance.
Having studied the biology of pain at a graduate level, I enjoy discussing factors that can influence the experience of pain. I'm also skilled in helping people navigate the broader healthcare system to manage specific pain-related conditions.
Massage style
My treatment style generally involves targeting specific areas with comfortably broad pressure using slow gliding techniques. I often include passive stretches for muscles and joints, as well as muscle compressions combined with active movements. I am comfortable applying a range of pressures, from very firm to light, depending on each patient’s needs.
I prefer to give everyone a chance to relax into the treatment quietly but I enjoy answering treatment-related questions and engaging in light conversation if desired.
